LISD COVID-19 Information

Students:
1. Covid positive students with a doctor's note will always follow the doctor's orders; absences are coded as a doctor's note excused absence
2. Covid positive home tests that are shared with the campus nurse will be coded nurse excused absence. (The positive test MUST be shared w/the campus nurse)
3. It is recommended to remain home 5 days from the onset of symptoms. However, the school will not trace days or keep students from returning.
4. Students with illnesses not documented as Covid (no positive test) are allowed to return to school when they are fever free for 24 hours without fever reducing meds. 
5. If the student did not have any fever they are allowed to return to school when they feel better.
 
NOTE: Even doctor or nurse excused absences count against student exemptions at the secondary level.
 
LISD Employees:
1.  Covid positive employees with a doctor's note will always follow the doctor's orders
2. Covid positive tests can be shared with campus admin as documentation for being absent
3. It is recommended to remain home 5 days from the onset of symptoms. However, the school will not trace days or keep employees from returning.
4. Employees with illnesses not documented as Covid (no positive test) are allowed to return to work when they are fever free for 24 hours without fever reducing meds. 
5. If an employee just does not feel well he may return when feeling better
6. All employee absences must use state or local paid leave. There is no other additional leave. When paid leave is exhausted employees are docked at the daily rate of pay.
7. Employees with sick children may use "family sick" absence reason but this is pulled from available state and local leave.
